38 Weeks!

Today was my doctors apt. I am now 38 weeks! Everything looks good, except for the fact that I'm now retaining water, and need to drink more water! The nurse could make a dent in my calf! Sooo gross! haha. The doc checked me and I'm almost dilated to 3, and am now 80% effaced! I have the option of going to the doctors again on Monday to see if I'm fully dilated to 3 and then I could easily be induced on Wednesday if I wanted to be! I'm already effaced enough, and by Wednesday I would be 39 weeks, and those are the requirements! Me and Michael are debating, well really I am, He gets here on Sat so that gives us 2 days to get everything together. Really its not that much and we could easily get everything done in one day.
If we don't chose, or I'm not ready on Monday the doctor will just see me back in a week, which would then put me at my due date, so really she could come anytime this next week! Ahh! Next post we just might have a baby! :)

Nesting.

I have this urge to rearrange everything in my apartment, I want to fold the baby clothes over and over again, and I cant stand the fact that I have to wait a week just to put the bedding on the crib! (Michael wont be here til sat and we have to pick up the mattress) I cant tell you how many times I go into the baby room and stand there and think of how I want it to look! Ive already washed all her blankets and all her bath towels and have them neatly folded! About a week ago me and my mom went out and got the baby bassinet, my mom insisted on me having a new one, I have the one from when I was born, but it needs some fixing up and it was stressing me out so we just went out a bought a cute neutral one that will do, and can be used for a boy or girl, so IF I do decide to have anymore kids haha or someone needs one we will have 2! I do plan on making the other one a future project, I want to paint it! We also picked out a changing table, and just got that moved in today! I got a cute lime green pad cover to match the green that is in the bedding, that we also got this last week too! I'm so excited to see everything come together, cant wait to put Michael to work! I hate being the type of person that when I want something, I have to have it right then! Its been driving me nuts to not have everything in place at once! I know I'm going to drive him crazy and want to have everything done with in the week, but I most likely will only see the doctor 2 more times and if we are lucky we can be induced! Which I'm hoping for!
My mom thinks I should let nature "take its course" but I'm already having enough anxiety I think the thought of knowing when I'm going to have the baby sounds a lot better! My next Doctors Apt will be this Wednesday which will bring me to 38 weeks! Almost there.

37 Weeks!

Today is the 37 week mark! Which means that my lil one is no longer considered premature! Yay! As of today I was 2 centimeters dilated, which is good I guess! In two more weeks we will see how things look and If I want too I can chose a date to be induced, which will bring me pretty close to my due date. Michael's step mom wants to have another baby shower for his side of the family, since none of his relatives came to my last shower. Three baby showers! I'm getting spoiled :) She is having it April 10Th, Michael gets here the 3rd so anytime between then and the 10Th we could have the baby!
Everything is going good, other than getting more and more uncomfortable! My family baby shower went great, I will be posting some pics soon!

Crafty me!

So as I mentioned in my previous post, I finished my project! I couldn't wait, so I looked at some different ideas online, and figured it wasn't going to be that hard so I headed to Roberts Crafts and picked up some Mod Podge, which is awesome! I also picked out a few different kinds of scrap book paper with different shades of purple (since that's the baby room colors I'm going for) I also picked out some paper flowers and some brads to layer and attach them. I chose brown ribbon that I also used on the letters, but later will hang them in her room, probably above her crib, which is where I got the idea, but I haven't got that far! I will update when I have her room somewhat put together! Ahh! I'm running out of time, but I'm waiting on the bedding to get here!

If you care to know how I did this ill give you my step by step instructions, but you can find many ideas like this online, and I didn't necessarily take my time, but I'm pleased with my results! Everything I used I purchased at Roberts.
-Wooded letters, unfinished. (They come in various sizes and styles)
You might want to sand down the rough edges butI didn't!
-Acrylic paint for wood. (most will be OK for all surfaces)
-Foam paint brush
-Mod Podge
I used the classic, regular mod podge, but you can chose from a variety. I also didn't use a top coat which you can use too.
-Scrapbook paper, embellishments.
I also purchased a exacto knife for scrap booking, just so I could cut out the letters easier, but scissors will work!
I painted the letters with a few coats of paint, let dry then traced them onto the paper I was going to use for each letter, then cut and measured them to fit just right. I then applied the mod podge to the wood and also to the back of the paper and placed the paper onto the letters and smoothed out and then applied all over the top of the paper, I kind of just did this until I got the desired look, and it made the paper soft so I could easily smooth the edges where I didn't cut so straight! I then added the flowers using mod podge as well because it works just as a glue, and its awesome because it drys shiny and clear! I had fun and cant wait to do another project! ;)

The finished project!
If you didnt know, we have chose the name Harper!

36 Weeks!

Today I went to the doctors, which brings me to 36 weeks, I'm now going every week and will be getting checked every week! Today they did a strep b test which they do around this time, and they also checked my cervix to see if I was dilated at all, and I was! I was a centimeter and 1/2 dilated and 30% effaced! The doctor said he could feel her head, so all of this was a good sign! Of course I was confused on exactly what effaced meant, basically its the thinning of the cervix, but Ive added a great diagram that kind of gives you the idea (well for those of you that don't have kids or are like me! haha) Sorry for the graphics, but hey its no secret!

You get the point.

The doctor said this means that there is a good chance and its most likely that I wont go over my due date, she should come right on or before which is good! I'm glad everything is going smoothly! I only gained 2lbs from the last doctors appointment, so I'm not putting on tons of weight, which I'm not complaining about, and they never seem concerned! My mom is throwing a family baby shower for me this Sat, and I should get the last of what I need then me and Michael can go and get the odds and ends!
I just started a little craft project for the baby room, Ive got some wood letters that spell out her name and have painted them, then I'm going to decorate them and try out some mod podge! I just want to do crafts and scrapbook lately! haha I will post soon about my project, cant wait to see how it turns out!

New Indulgence.

These are Fizzy Balls from Melt and they are awesome!
They just opened one of their stores in the Provo Town Center right by Red Robin, I was curious so I went in, and I was sold! Its a small store, but sooo cute. Plus one of the guys that works there is hilarious, and I just couldn't say no to him. You can Buy 5 fizzy balls get 5 free! They are about 6 bucks each, but they smell great and make baths ten times better! I ended up using a whole one for one bath, they fizz the whole time, make the water soft and colorful! If your not a bath person, they may not be for you, but I recommend getting some to try, they definitely are worth it, but then again I'm a bathaholic. ;)

Never ending changes!

Pregnancy.
Ohhhh the joys.
Up til now, I really haven't had too many complaints, besides being sick for the first month or so which I knew would happen, I lost weight and felt pretty lucky to have shedded some pounds before putting on an additional 20, which has been pretty much all baby and came on slowly! Then the heartburn, which I expected, but man is it deathly! Ive also had to pee a million times, and Ive had a back ache here and there, now my ribs are killing me! I can only sit up for a short period of time, because being crunched over makes the upper part of my stomach numb! I don't feel that big, and most people say I look small for being 35 weeks pregnant, but I cant imagine being any bigger! I feel like I literally have to roll out of bed just to use the bathroom, and I now get leg cramps walking fast or for long durations.
I just recently went on a trip to mesquite with my mom and sister, just for the weekend, and let me tell you, I didn't realize how much strain pregnancy puts on you when your trying to actually enjoy yourself!! I know I have ten times more pain to come, but jeesh, I just cant hang with the rest of them! Now that its down to the last 4 weeks of pregnancy I sure can tell my body is getting ready, and now that the warm weather is coming Ive noticed my feet swelling!! Its crazy. I'm so nervous for the big day, but so excited!

Baby Shower #1.

My Girls.

Saturday February 27Th my wonderful friends Courtney And Laura threw me a baby shower for me and some of my closest friends. Courtney was kind enough to let us have the shower at her new home, and Laura took charge as the hostess with the mostess. haha
I was surprised to walk in and see framed pictures of me when I was little, it was a nice touch and sooo cute. We played a few games, the first one was guessing how many toilet paper squares I measured around, it was 9! Then we played a guessing game of what features people thought I would want from me, and what I would want from Michael, it was fun to see every ones answers! Everyone was surprised to see that I chose his feet! Michael, does have really cute feet which is surprising! Everyone got to sign and write something for me on some scrapbook pages to keep in my scrapbook which was nice.
We had good food, and an awesome cake, which I was surprised by, that had a prego pic of me on it.. so cute!
yes Laura had to feed me cake. ;)

Then was gifts! I'm so grateful for all the wonderful things my friends got me, I got spoiled, and my mom came and surprised me with the baby swing I wanted! I would list everything I got, but there was soo much! I cant wait to see my little girl and try on all the cute outfits she got!Jocelyn's cute daughter helping out.

Thanks to everyone that came, and thanks to my friends for their hard work, it really means soo much!
