Chatter Box.

Ohhh my...

I can see it coming, Harper is going to be quite the talker. She babbles so much already! Just yesterday we were at the store.. and she started saying hat!!! She saw the hats and insisted on having me put them on her. Now her new thing is to say "Hi" all the time.. and try and repeat everything you are saying... Time to put a stop to my bad habit of swearing.. errrr.

Trying on hats.. the toddler ones are too small. Love my big headed child! ;)

So far these are the words harper can/trys to say:

Ball= "ba"

Kitty= kkkk sound..

Doggy = da

Mama

Dada

Shoes= "Soos"

Hat

Tree= "Tee"

No

caca= "caccac" Everything that she shouldnt eat or touch that is gross I say caca!

Im sure there are more that she has attempted to say but these are the most frequent. Its crazy just how many things she has been saying, trying to say in the last few weeks.. she is hilarious. Ohh and her newest thing to do is SING! Yes.. if I start singing, or she hears someone on TV.. she scrunches up her nose and starts to make these quiet little noises.. its so funny.. hopefully I can catch it on video soon!

16 months!

Time seriously flies by...

I cant believe how big she is getting! Just last night me and Michael were looking at pictures and videos he had on his phone from when Harper was born, up to now.. and its amazing how much she has changed. I miss her being tiny... but I LOVE watching her learn and grow. She is so much fun, and makes us laugh so much.. she is quite the character.

Ive been really bad at updating her baby book.. and I'm sure there are a few things Ive forgotten or missed, and cant remember specific dates, but ill update on what I can remember.

Harper is so smart.. she really picks up on things quick. She will repeat what a doggy and kitty says, were still working on pig.. she will scrunch up her nose, but not do the sound too well. ha She is starting to run everywhere, which is funny to watch because she puts her arms back, like to give herself some momentum or something. She says shoes, she LOVES shoes.. she wants them on first thing when she wakes up, throughout the day, and feels the need to gather all of them up and carry them around.. she even cried in the store when she saw them and couldn't have them! she still says "Ba" for ball.. every time she sees one, or something she thinks is one... they are her favorite.

Lately her new thing is to climb on top of EVERYTHING. This girl is fearless.. she would rather climb on and in anything she can than play with her toys.

Her favorite show is YO Gabba Gabba.. look it up.. its almost creepy. But for some reason it puts her into a trance.. she spins and dances like crazy. There is a dance on there called "hold still" You wiggle until they say hold still... yup she has mastered that dance. ;) She is also very generous with blowing and giving kisses... which usually end up with snot of slobber everywhere. She also loves to wear mommy's clothes.. there's a few shirts she has that she insists on carrying around, and puts over her head. She is definitely my daughter.. attitude and all. :)

I just love her little face so much... and as much as I would love for her to stay little forever.. I'm excited to watch her grow, and teach her new things.

Remembering.

Sunday we went up to sandy to spend time with Michael's family, they were having a get together in remembrance of Michael's Grandma (Harper's Great Grandma) who passed away one year ago. Luckily she was able to meet and spend time with Harper a few months before she passed. Although I didn't get to spend a lot of time with her, I do enjoy the stories I get to hear, and see the love that her family has for her.

Funny thing is.. the first time I met Michael's Grandma, I wore this dress.. I was pregnant with Harper and she didn't know yet. We were at a family get together, and Michael decided that when all the family left he was going to break the great news to her.. well she didn't take it as we expected she would, well as Michael expected she would, considering how close they were. Lets just say she sat there, asking us about marriage, and being a minister, requested to marry us. (talk about awkward for me! ) Michael explained how we didn't think marriage was right for us at the time, so she proceeded to explain all the reasons why we should, and how much better it would be for Harper.. We literally sat in silence, until Michael said..

"Well, I guess we'll get going.." As we got up to leave, Michael's Grandma stayed seated and didn't say a word.. and this family is a bunch of hugger's.. so you knew she was upset!! haha

I left crying, being pregnant and emotional.. Lets just say it was the most awkward moment ever!! We laugh about it now.. Just another story to be told at occasions like this.

Outside Great Grandma's House.

We ♥ and miss you.

Fiesta!

This weekend I decided to put my awesome cooking skills to test and try out a new recipe! My lovely friend Katelyn has a great recipe blog (everyone should check it out) It is there that I found the recipe for Mexican Chicken.

How easy is this:

4 Chicken breasts
16 oz Salsa
Cook in crock pot for 4 hrs
Take out chicken, shred and put back in crock pot
Add 1cup sour cream
Cook for an additional 1hr
Serve with tortillas (I also made some Spanish rice)

I of course added some chili powder to spice things up.. im sure you could use hot salsa, I used mild. I cooked my chicken in the crock pot on high, and mine were semi-defrosted.. and 4 hours was just enough. I also added a little more salsa then suggested,my crock pot is small and I wanted to make sure all my chicken was smothered! ;)

So delish!

We also made (Michael made) Margaritas.. I don't have the exact recipe but these are the ingredients used.

Triple sec
Tequila
Limeade
Lemon juice
Ice
Blend together
Salt rim with margarita salt
Yum!
These margaritas were more mild then when you get the already made mix, which I think can be too strong at times. These turned out great for making out own.

Coupon trips!

So after my first attempt at coupon-ing at Walgreen's.. I decided to go again, and again.. and I'm sure ill be going again! haha I have yet to go coupon-ing at my grocery store, I do have a lot of coupons cut out and waiting to be used.. Walgreen's is just a lot easier for me I guess?? Although I hear people say its one of the harder places to coupon.... maybe, but i have had no problems!

2 different trips.
Spent:48.39 first trip
Recieved: 30.00 rewards.
used those second trip, spent 2.49! Basically got all this for 20 bucks!!

2 Different trips.
Spent 35.77
Received 15.00 in rewards
Used the rewards my second trip, spent about 5.00.
Like paying 25 bucks!!
Not pictured: A pack of 2 sippy cups, and some conditioner.

I usually only purchase things that i know will give me rewards.. Walgreen's has certain items on sale each week that will print out a in store coupon towards your next purchase for a certain amount, then i can turn around and use those on anything else.. the last two times ive used my rewards and only had to pay a few dollars over after the rewards are counted. So far ive got to stock up on razors, toothpaste, body wash, dish soap, noodles and hamburger helper. Its really fun to get things for practically free! I just need to venture out and see what i can get with my coupons ive been getting from the Sunday paper.
Until next time...
:)
