Crafty love.

Valentines day is oh so lovely.
Whats more lovely is my V-day wreath.

Made by yours truly.

I got the idea from here. such a cute blog, and hers looks fabulous.
Me on the other hand, is a want right now, have to have right now kind of gal, so I improvised and made mine a little differently.. but it worked out!

Here is how I did mine, and how it turned out.

1. Find a cheap foam wreath, or one like this..about 3 dollars at Walmart.

Of course, it would be pretty hard to glue perfectly around this so instead of covering it with ribbon like the above blog, I used pink colored duck tape! It kept all the twigs in, and made for a smoother wreath to work with.

2. Cover wreath.
How awesome(and ghetto) is my colored duck tape?!

3. Pick out some cute cup cake liners.. yes cup cake liners. I chose these.

4. Fold and fan, and or scrunch to your liking!

5. Heat up the glue gun, and start placing! Because I used 2 different liners, I did sections, alternating around the wreath.
I used almost 4 packages(2 of each pattern)

6. Continue around wreath, until desired look.
and tada!

I of course forgot the most important thing, a hook to hang it on the front door, or else I would have the last step of adding ribbon to the back, which of course I bought pink! But I do think it looks mighty cute on my shelf.

So easy and fun, I might have to make one for every Holiday. :)

Another mans junk...

Is my treasure!!!

Its exactly what Ive been looking for, an antique wooden high chair! Ive seen so many on ksl.com but we never  purchased one, you would think that we would have had a highchair by now, Harper is almost 10 months! Yep, were slacker, let our child get messy, eat in her bouncy toy kind of parents. oops.
For only 35 bucks, I think its a deal! It was the cheapest one on ksl when I looked, I like the style, and because I have a awesome handy wood-workin' dad.. this is my next project!! So poor Harper will be high chair-less for a few more days.
I now cant decide if I should leave it, and polish it up, or paint and distress it so it looks old, but adding some color... my next dilemma is figuring out how to make padding for it. Ive seen it done, but the last time I sewed anything more than a button or seam, was most likely in my high school days. Looks like I have to make a trip to Grandmas house for that one..

Here is a restoration that I like, you can find here.

Even tho mine needs some work, I think it will turn out quite cute. You know what ill be doing this weekend! I'm such a rebel.

I of course forgot the battery to my camera when we went to Montana, but here is a video of us sledding while we were there, we got tons of snow!!

9 Months!

I cannot believe I have a 9 month old, I cant imagine having a toddler, throwing her a 1 year Bday party... she is getting so big.. I miss my cuddly newborn! Don't get me wrong, I'm sooo loving watching her grow up, and learn and experience new things, but she is such a little busy body!

She is now crawling all over the place and pulling herself up on everything!!
She is walking along things, while holding on
She has one bottom tooth, and we can feel the top ones starting.
She loves pasta.. we went to apple bees and decided to have her taste some, and she wouldn't stop! haha lets just say we shared a meal! After that, we started to have her try the foods we were eating, and now that's all she wants! When we were in Montana we got to us one of those baby food grinders, and I don't know why I have not invested in one yet! It was so easy, and she got to eat a lot of the good stuff we were eating, and she loved it!
Harper has quite the personality already, and has mastered the throwing fit part of not getting what she wants. It can only get better right? haha
She is always so happy and giggly for the most part, smiles and squeals and babbles constantly!
She loves her Aunt McKenzie.. she is just drawn to her for some reason, and when shes around, mom is soo out of the picture.
She growls.. and will copy you if you make some sort of growling sound. Hilarious.
We love sponge bob.. we watch it almost every morning, me and Michael swear she trys to say "sponge bob" she babbles a sound that sounds just like it! haha
She loves to wake up dadda in the morning, and crawl and climb all over him.
Splashing like crazy in the bathtub, and wants to pull herself up, turn over, and be all over in the tub.. its def a entertaining and hands on bath, trying to keep her from ending up under water!!

Bed time is still going well.. better than I imagined it being. We have had some long nights ever since she has mastered pulling her self up in her crib, we have had to lower it, but she still manages. Its like fun time for her because she can get up and look around, so she wants to be up and playing. But she is still sleeping in her crib, we only bring her into bed a few times, and that's when she decides to wake up between 4-6 am and I'm exhausted and hope I can get her back to sleep! She is always up at 7am.. which I'm not sure I will ever get used too. I wish she would sleep longer.

We have a doctors appointment this week, I'm interested to see her stats for this month. When I tried weighing her with me, I'm pretty sure she was right around 20lbs!! She is a chunk. We love her tons!

I recently tried out this little crafty project here although, mine did not look as vintage as this one, and I was making last minute gifts for Christmas, my plain ones had to do. I still thought they were cute, even quickly done and off centered. :)
After this, I have become quite obsessed with mason jars, although the ones at craft stores are not the awesome blue glass.. There is an easy alternative to that, that my mom- to- be- in law..(as long as Michael behaves) came across and was going to attempt.. I then found the post about it on one of my favorite blogs The little apartment.
I'm sure you can google and find other tutorials too. I think they are so cute, vintage or not, they make great vases for flowers, candle holders, the usual food storage, or flour and sugar jars to display on the counter.. they are so cute for center pieces, and hanging candle lanterns.. def already deciding its a must have for my wedding, because they are sooo DIY and soo cute and cozy looking... See...

All images from Google image search.

NO I AM NOT GETTING MARRIED! Just want to make that clear.. I just think they are such a great idea for one. Jeesh. haha

Maybe I'm just obsessed with re-using glass jars/wine bottles... Ive re-used my baby food jars to make a spice rack, and an old wine bottle for another craft you can find out how to do here  its easy, inexpensive and looks great on display! Cant wait to make more! (of course I have none of my original pictures) You can also see this cute and inexpensive other use for old wine bottles here. Again, because it is "wedding-ish" does not mean I'm getting married!! It just happened to go that way.

Eww, what happened?

Delayed...

I'm trying my hardest to get a Christmas post up.. how our Christmas went, and such. Also the trip to Montana. I can assure you tho, it went excellent! But since I do not have the battery to my camera I have no photos! We also documented parts of our trip with my new flip video recorder (Thanks Michael) so I will post some of those fun ones soon!

This is the ONLY picture I have available from our trip to Montana, and it was from the way home!

Beautiful sunset driving through Dillon Montana.

More to come soon!
